OUR IMPACT GOALS

The VA estimates that 22 veterans commit suicide every day. That is 8,030 suicides every year.

We are committed to changing that reality by addressing housing instability, employment barriers, and social isolation — the leading risk factors impacting homeless veterans in Georgia.

HERO STORY

Paul Nelson, US Marine Corps Veteran

Paul Nelson's story exemplifies the courage, sacrifice, and resilience inherent in Veterans. After facing post-service challenges like homelessness and mental health struggles, Paul's life took a positive turn following a heart attack in 2022. This event led him to seek assistance from the Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO), which provided him with housing, medical care, and job readiness support. With VEO's comprehensive aid, Paul found hope and a renewed sense of purpose, enabling him to focus on his health, regain his independence, and work towards a brighter future. Paul's transformation underscores the impact of community support and the potential for renewal, serving as an inspiring beacon for other veterans facing similar challenges. Through organizations like VEO and the resilience of veterans like Paul, we are reminded of the power of support systems and the indomitable human spirit.
