Behavioral Health

In the journey toward wellness, every step counts. The VEO Behavioral Health Program is designed to create a pathway from vulnerability to stability for those who have sacrificed so much for us: our Veterans. With a cornerstone philosophy grounded in dignity and respect, the program offers a comprehensive suite of services tailored to meet the unique needs of transitioning individuals, homeless Veterans, and mental health support seekers.

76% of homeless veterans experience alcohol, drug, or mental health problems
DID YOU KNOW?

Veterans are at higher risk of suicide, drug misuse, and homelessness. The transition from service to civilian life is uniquely challenging, and our military service members deserve the best possible transition team to empower them to pursue their goals. VEO works one-on-one with veterans to develop an individual pathway based on each veteran’s experience and needs.

Embracing Biophilic Design in
The Rollins Veteran Center

VEO has created a healing space by incorporating biophilic features. Biophilia refers to the innate human tendency to connect with nature. By adding elements such as plants, natural light, and views of nature, we can bring the outdoors
inside and reap the benefits of being in a natural environment.

VEO has astutely recognized the potency of biophilic design and has gracefully integrated it into the Rollins Veteran Center's spaces. This innovative approach has proved invaluable for veterans battling chronic mental illnesses. By creating an
environment that mimics nature, the Rollins Veterans Center has become a sanctuary that fosters calmness, tranquility, and ultimately, healing.

Veteran Wellness Garden

Located behind Rollins Veteran Center, the Wellness Garden is a peaceful oasis for our veterans to find solace and assist in their healing journey. It serves as a reminder of VEO's commitment to supporting those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

What is the Wellness Garden and why is it so significant?

The Wellness Garden is more than just a physical space – it is a symbol of hope and healing for our veterans. It features various elements such as walking paths, benches, plants, and a reflection pond, all designed to promote relaxation and emotional well-being.

Research has shown that nature-based therapies can have a positive impact on the mental health of individuals, especially those who have experienced trauma. That's why VEO's Wellness Garden is an integral part of our holistic approach to supporting our veterans.

Brainways Deep TMS:
Treatment for Mental Health

VEO now provides veterans with Brainways Deep TMS, a non-invasive neurostimulation technology that has been gaining recognition for its remarkable potential in treating mental health and addiction disorders. This technology signifies a monumental advancement in the support of veterans on their path to holistic healing.

Veterans often grapple with the unique challenges of anxiety, depression, OCD, and addiction- lingering echoes of a life spent in service. This powerful, non-invasive technology offers a promising avenue for recovery, allowing veterans to reclaim control of their mental health and ultimately, their lives.

Service Animals Revolutionizing The Lives of Veterans

VEO, in partnership with K9s for Warriors, has a new furry team member. Oldfield is our Veteran Support Specialist. Service animals have proven to provide emotional support, reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, and help with managing PTSD triggers. They offer companionship and unconditional love, which can make a huge difference in the lives of our veterans. The statistics surrounding veteran suicide rates are alarming and heartbreaking.

It is estimated that 22 veterans take their lives every day in the United States. Service animals play a vital role in providing emotional support to decrease veteran suicide. At VEO, we are proud to be part of this incredible journey towards healing and transformation for our veterans. We believe that every veteran deserves a chance at a happy and fulfilling life, and service animals play a vital role in making that happen.
