At VEO, we offer a healing campus environment that allows veterans to rebuild their lives. Our mission is to empower veterans to independently access communities of support and achieve self-sufficiency.

THE PROBLEM

An estimated 2000 veterans throughout Georgia have little access to the resources they need for daily living. There are many invisible wounds that affect veterans, including post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety - all of which can lead to homelessness.

By raising funds to empower veterans, we’re able offer an experience that not only houses veterans, but also provides support for their physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial well-being.

HERO STORIES

Paul Nelson served in the US Marine Corps for three years. As a homeless veteran, he suffered from a heart attack in 2022 and has suffered from mental health disorders. When he arrived at VEO, his goal was to get his health back in order, with hopes of rebuilding his strength and identity. Housing was his immediate need, but VEO has also provided him with medical services, job readiness, and opportunities to get involved with his community. His journey as a VEO hero has just begun, but the inspiration the VEO team provides is undeniable. As Paul Nelson explained, "I finally feel inspired to get up and go, stay on my toes, and remain motivated. I am the one that will have to find a job, transportation, and maintain a healthy life,. It is really hard, but I now want to take care of myself and keep going."
